American Idol contestant, singer and actress Jennifer Hudsons estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was arrested Monday for the murders of her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew, according to Chicago police. Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said that although formal charges have not yet been laid by the Cook County prosecutors office, Balfour has been transferred from an Illinois state prison (where he has been held on suspicion of a parole violation) back into police custody.

Around 2:30pm Saturday afternoon the body of 20 year old Ruslana Korshunova was found on the ground outside her lower Manhattan apartment building. It first appeared as though she had been hit by a car, but witnesses later revealed that she had jumped from her ninth floor apartment. It is unknown if she left behind a suicide note or if anyone else was in her apartment with her. Neighbors say that they did hear a loud noise just before her body was discovered. Local police said that there was no trace of violence in her apartment and that everything looked like a suicide.

She started crying here, and it looked fake and very put on. Apparently she was living with a guy she met outside her escort job who knew she was a prostitute. She gave up the job for him and it sounded like he was paying for the apartment and all her bills. She supposedly didn’t know he was married, but when he left her she had to go back to prostitution to pay the rent and her credit card debt.

Here she read from her supposed diary from that time and she said it was hard to go back to prostitution after six months off. She said “I don’t know why it was so difficult for me. What if I got sick, what if I got AIDS, what if I got killed? I never planned on going back to work, but I had to.”
When asked why Spitzer was deemed a “difficult” client, as found out in the FBI investigation.
“Legally I’ve been advised not to discuss that.” She also wouldn’t discuss if she saw him more than once. “I don’t feel that I brought him down. [that was] a decision that he made.”

Sawyer asked her if she had something to say to Spitzer, but she said “I don’t think I would say it to him. I would say it to his wife. Sorry for your pain.

This past Saturday, I watched the greatest arm wrestling movie of our generation. Yes, people I am talking about the American classic known as Over the Top. Starring action hero Sylvester Stallone. For an hour and a half I was riveted by Stallones performance as Lincoln Hawk. The movie has everything: action, humor, love, humility, triumph, redemption, even a competitor who drinks motor oil. Do I need to say more?

I cant believe Stallones performance did not earn him an Oscar. I know he was great in Rambo and Rocky, but we have seen films about boxers and war heroes. He took a step of faith, and became the first actor in film history to portray a professional arm wrestler/big rig trucker. Unfortunately Hollywood did not see the brilliance in this film. The academy gave the award to some actor named Michael Douglass. Who won for his performance in the low budget release entitled: Wall Street. It breaks my heart to mention this, but Stallone was not even nominated for an Academy Award in 1987. Yet, some joker named Robin Williams was nominated for his part in small indie film called Good Morning Vietnam. Are you kidding me?

My point: The song Eye of the Tiger would be nothing without Sylvester Stallone.

Two weeks ago I presented the first part of my interview with Beau James, who recently marked his 20th year in the professional wrestling business. James talked about how he got into the wrestling business, the biggest changes hes seen during his career and whether or not he thinks professional wrestling is dead. This week, he continues the conversation by talking about how the UFC is the greatest form of wrestling out there today.

James: It is the old carny show. You look at how they build guys up, how they go, the matches. You find tapes of Lou Thesz, any of those guys and you watch it and its the UFC. Theyre on the mat, they pound a little bit and they grapple. Dana White must have read somebodys book or studied the wrestling business because he promotes it the way wrestling was promoted in the 40s, 50s and s whats missing now. When the title is about to switch in the WWE or TNA, people know it weeks ahead of time. They figure it out.

Lane: Do you think the Internet is part of the problem with professional wrestling today?

James: Its a huge problem, but its a double-edged sword. The Internet now, for guys like me, thats our TV. The wrestling magazines are gone, so the Internet has taken the place of that.

Whats bad about it is the people who think they know what theyre talking about get on here and write stuff and people start writing hymns about it because they think its the gospel. ... Anybody who owns a computer can open up their own Web site or blog. I dont care how ridiculous or stupid it is, somebodys going to believe what they write.

Lane: Is there anybody wrestling in the WWE or TNA youre impressed with?

James: Ive always liked Kurt Angle. The guy won the Olympics with a broken neck. Im a wrestling fan, not only pro wrestling but wrestling. Guys like Mike Rotundo and Steve Williams. I love to watch the art form of getting holds and getting out of holds.

A.J. Styles is unbelievable. I believe hes the best athlete in the wrestling business right now. His matches are unbelievable. He can go and hes never winded and he makes it look so easy. I appreciate it because I can see what hes doing and I know how hard it is.

Lane: What about Triple H? Do you think he can work an old school match?

James: I met him when he was in WCW and he was very respectful to everybody and I met him one time since in WWE and talked to him. I believe he was 20 years too late. Hes a big star now, but I do believe he could have been even bigger. Dr. Tom Prichard really puts over Triple H, his work ethic and how he watches the old tapes and how he wants to learn. He was a wrestling fan.

Wrestling is a job. If youre going to do it and do it right ... its a way of life. You have to do it and be proud of it. Triple H loves the wrestling business and is so proud to be a pro wrestler.

Lane: I guess thats why guys like Brock Lesnar and Goldberg didnt make it over the long run.

James: They think its an easy and fast way to make money. Everybody thinks, it doesnt hurt, its all put on. Ive had 21 broken bones and seven major concussions, Ive had days where I couldnt get out of bed, and people have died. People dont realize that. It is an art form, a sport, and people say its not a sport. If gymnastics is a sport, then pro wrestling is a sport.

Lane: Do you have hope for the future of professional wrestling?

James: In the best town I wrestle in that stays consistent is Kingsport. We go to Knoxville every Thursday and it goes up and down.

Its a full-time job and a way of life, and people dont look at it like that. People think its a hobby. This is the first speech I give when someone comes to me saying they want to be a wrestler. I say, Are you married? Then better get a lawyer because youre going to be divorced. I tell them were going to wrestle Christmas, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Labor Day, your birthday, her birthday, kids birthday, Little League. Theres no excuse for missing a booking.

When I got into the business, heres the three reasons you could miss jail, being in the hospital or death, and not anybody elses death. Your death.

Lane: Any plans to retire?

James: This was going to be my last year in the wrestling business because Ive been so disgusted with it over the last couple of years. Not here, just as a whole everywhere. There are three things that happened this past year, that lit a passion and fire in me for the business again.

First was my wife Misty started wrestling, and Moe Jenkins and another guy in Knoxville. They became my new students, and the three of them really gave me a drive because they want to learn.

The second thing was Brian Logan coming back to wrestling. Me and Brian started around the same time, wrote together, lived together, and we had a serious incident and real heat. Hes come back and in the last year weve had some good matches and some buzz with the world title. The third thing was when Tony Givens got hurt and I thought, what if that happened to me? What if I could not wrestle, what would I do?

If its only a hobby and guys say they dont care if they get paid, I say, Why are you here? Ive been homeless a couple of times, lived in my car. But Ive got a nice little house now. I made it work because I was willing to do what it took, any means necessary to survive by the wrestling business.

Most people think Im crazy, but I made a promise to myself when I was 17 years old. I would either totally survive 100 percent in the wrestling business or Ill never do it. Ive never broke it.

James thanks a number of wrestlers who helped and coached him over the years, including his cousin and partner of 15 years K.C. Thunder, Jimmy Boogey Woogey Man Valiant, Bill Dundee, Buddy Landell, Ricky Morton, Tracy Smothers, Manny Fernandez and Dr. Tom Prichard. He also thanked all of the fans who have come to see him wrestle over the years

The Canadian radio duo of Sebastien Trudel and Marc-Antoine Audette have struck again.  The comedic team from CKOI-FM Montreal phoned Sarah Palin, announcing an incoming phone call from French President Nicolas Sarkozy.  Unfortunately, Palins assistant Becksy fell for the ruse hook, line and sinker and put the Republican V.P. candidate on the phone.

Hollywood Pays Tribute to Paul Newman

PAUL Newman's death has left Hollywood reeling.

And many stars -- and politicians -- have come out to pay tribute to the late actor, who died Friday after losing his battle with cancer.

Robert Redford: "There is a point where feelings go beyond words. I have lost a real friend. My life and this country is better for his being in it."

George Clooney: "He set the bar too high for the rest of us. Not just actors, but all of us."

Arnold Schwarzenegger: "Paul Newman was the ultimate cool guy, who men wanted to be like and women adored. He was an American icon, a brilliant actor, a Renaissance man and a generous but modest philanthropist.

"He entertained millions in some of Hollywood's most memorable roles ever, and he brightened the lives of many more, especially seriously ill children, through his charitable works. Paul was one of a kind. The beloved film star will be missed by a world of fans and admirers. Maria and I send our thoughts and prayers to his wife, Joanne Woodward, his entire family and his many friends."

Sen. Hillary Clinton and former President Clinton: "Paul was an American icon, philanthropist and champion for children. We will miss our dear friend, whose continued support always meant the world to us. Looking Back

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in January 1925, Newman served in the Navy in World War II. He hoped of being accepted for pilot training, but his plan was foiled when a flight physical revealed him to be color blind

He eventually became a radioman and gunner.

After the war, he completed his degree at Kenyon College, graduating in 1949. Newman later studied acting at Yale University and under Lee Strasberg at the Actors' Studio in New York.

He was best known for his role in 1967's Cool Hand Luke, and for starring opposite his close friend Robert Redford in 1969's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and 1973's The Sting.

He was nominated for 10 Oscars in his 50-year-long career, winning the Best Actor accolade for his role in The Color of Money in 1986.

He also won two Golden Globe Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Cannes Film Festival Award and an Emmy award.

In 2007, he announced his retirement, admitting he was too old to continue his work in Hollywood.

Newman said, "You start to lose your memory, you start to lose your confidence, you start to lose your invention. So I think that's pretty much a closed book for me."

Newman was also famed for his charity work. Following the death of his only son Scott from an accidental drug overdose in 1978, the star set up the Scott Newman Center for drug abuse prevention.

He was also the founder of food company Newman's Own, from which he donated all profits and royalties to charity.

Newman is survived by his wife, actress Joanne Woodward and their three daughters, Elinor, Melissa and Claire. He also has two daughters, Susan and Stephanie from his first marriage to Jackie Witte.

Remembering Dad

On Mondays show, Darlene pays a visit to Heidi.
Shocked to learn that Heidi and Spencer are living together again, she takes Spencer to lunch to see if the move is wise.
She first thanks him for letting Heidis sister, Holly, stay with them as she looks for a job.
But the meal turns sour when Spencer tells Darlene that Holly has ulterior motives: Her intention is to get me out of living there so she can live with Heidi!
Darlene replies, Well, maybe thats not such a bad idea.What planet are you living on? Spencer snaps. s a horrible idea!
Dismayed, Darlene tells Spencer, I think you’re very controlling and manipulative. I think you’re condescending, rude and very hostile right now.
Darlene later breaks down while recounting the events to Heidi.
Of Spencer, Darlene says, Maybe he doesn’t want you to be as close to the family. Maybe Im being controlling, but its hard for me. I dont want to lose you. I just want to see you happy.
Heidi gives her a glazed look to be continued.
Meanwhile, Lauren has her share of drama as she confronts Spencers sister Stephanie about going on a dinner date with her ex, Doug.
Stephanie puts the blame on Doug, naturally.
He was totally just using me to get back at you. Yeah, I deleted him from my phone, and I got like missed calls from him. I’m not going to call him back, obviously, Stephanie tells Lauren.
When confronted about the date, Doug insists Stephanie blew things out of proportion.
He shows bud Brody texts from Stephanie asking him to come to her house late at night to watch movies. Bottom line, I wanted to be friends with her, Doug claims.
When Stephanie later shows up at Dougs pool party, Brody grills Stephanie about being shady - a claim he has been making all season.
I was right all along about you don’t pretend to be innocent when you’re not, he says before Stephanie storms off.
Doug gets miffed when he hears about the exchange. I cant believe this is an issue! he exclaims.
At the end of the episode, Lauren and Stephanie hash it out once again.
You and Doug shouldn’t have done what youve done, but whatever, its over, Lauren tells a teary-eyed Stephanie.

Lauren walks again, not fully convinced she can trust Stephanie again.

David (Hard Candy) Slade directs this nerve-jangling adaptation of the popular graphic novel series about a mob of vampires that overruns a remote Alaskan town in the grip of 30 Days of Night. Josh Hartnett and Melissa George are the films de facto heroes (hes the stoic town sheriff and shes his estranged fire-marshal wife) but the pictures real MVP is Slades camera (along with cinematographer Jo Willems), which careens across the towns snowy landscape to detail the vampires horrific assault on its inhabitants, which are quickly pared down to a hardy few. The script, co-written by the source materials creator, Steve Niles, along with Pirates of the Caribbeans Stuart Beattie and Hard Candys Brian Nelson), proudly wears its influences on its crimson-stained sleeve (Bram Stokers Dracula, natch, but also Salems Lot, Night of the Living Dead, and John Carpenters version of The Thing) and boils down the graphic novels to a series of tense and extremely bloody standoffs between Harnett and Georges band of survivors and the vaguely Slavic and ferocious bloodsuckers led by Marlow (a feral and frightening Danny Huston). And if the characters seem stock and the finale begs suspension of disbelief, the set pieces leading up to it are sufficiently supercharged with suspense and violence to please most horror fans. Standouts in the supporting cast are Ben Foster as the films Renfield figure and Mark Boone Junior; the disturbing score by Brian Reitzell also merits a mention.

As the insanity surrounding the divorce of Hulk and Linda Hogan continues to swirl, here is the latest bit of celebrity injustice
It appears that the couple put down almost $850,000 for a down payment on a $4.2 million dollar condo in Las Vegas before Linda filed for divorce. Hogan did not want the condo afterward, but Linda wanted to seal the purchase.
A divorce lawyer sided with Hulk that he did not have to make the purchase, however the real estate company will only return $200,000 and is keeping the other $650,000 for liquidated damages.
Now, both Hulk and Linda attorneys are fighting over who will absorb the monetary loss. But which Hogan attorney knows best.

Of course, the teams have a long history of violence. It's funny: The Sox show their hatred to the Yankees by beating them; they show it to the Rays by beating them up.

The only thing I needed to see to make the game complete was an all-out brawl. It didn't happen, but having WWE wrestlers sit behind me somehow made that need go away.
