Death seems to be shadowing the Praja Ankita Yatra of Praja Rajyam party (PRP) chief Chiranjeevi, as one more fan died on the last leg of yatra in the district today.
P Brahamiah (25) from Peddaneni Kaluva Dalitwada in Tsundupalle mandal, along with six of his friends, was on his way to Kadapa for participating in the Chiranjeevi road show when their Tata Sumo Vehicle met with an accident at Pallanagarpalle in Ramapuram mandal. A speeding lorry collided head-on with it, resulting in the instantaneous death of Brahamaiah.
His six friends and the Sumo driver were seriously injured in the mishap and were shifted to the Rayachoti Government Hospital.
With the condition of Ramachandra (30) and Yerraiah (25) worsening, they were shifted to SVR Ruia Hospital in Tirupati where their condition is reported to be critical. The others, including driver Penchalaiah, are undergoing treatment at Rayachoti. There were three deaths and injuries to ten others during the three-day Yatra in the district.
As for the Yatra itself, it evoked overwhelming response with thousands of Chiranjeevi’s fans and supporters turning up in large numbers at his road shows. People lined up the road on both sides for about 8 km from Bhakrapeta to Ontimitta, while his fans were seen showering two truckloads of flowers on him all along.
Earlier, Chiranjeevi visited Pedda Dargha (Ameen Peer Dargha) and offered prayers there. He spent nearly one hour in the shrine and was explained its significance by Dargah Committee secretary Anwar. Later, he offered prayers at Pastoral House and was blessed by the bishop. He stayed there for the night.
Handloom weavers presented him with a saree, asking him to give it to his mother.
Moved by the gesture, Chiranjeevi said that Madhavarm was as famous as Dharmavarm and it was an honour for him to receive a saree from the Madhavaram weavers. He assured them that once he came to power, he would make it a priority to address the problems of weavers.
On reaching Tallapaka, passing Ontimitta and Nandalur on his way, he said that he was really thrilled to be standing on the land where saint-poet Tallapaka Annamacharya had lived once. His speeches at Rajampeta and Kodur had an emotional tinge.
District Congress leaders, however, belittled the public response, saying the crowds turned out just to see their favourite star. DCC president K Suresh Babu said the people of Kadapa viewed him as a flim personality rather than a political leader.
Kamalapuram MLA G Veera Siva Reddy wondered how the PRP chief would eradicate factionism while himself being accompanied by known factionists Bhuma Nagi Reddy and MV Ramana Reddy.

The war between the Tamil channels has created a crisis in Kollywood. Till May 2007, Sun TV lorded over the Tamil film industry, and called the shots. They had virtual monopoly over the industry and all the big titles went to them. But, after the Maran brothers fell out with the Karunanidhi family, particularly with his eldest son Azhagiri, the Sun network glory was on the wane.
Later, as Kalaignar TV was launched that became the “the most favoured channel of Kollywood”. As official patronage flowed for the channel, it started buying big movie titles. Taking a leaf out of Sun TV’s style of operations, Kalaignar soon picked up the best of Kollywood content. Blockbusters like Sivaji, Dasavatharam, Billa went to Kalaignar TV, leaving Sun TV with a package of little known movies.
Sun TV hit back by virtually boycotting films that Kalaignar TV had television rights for. If you watch Sun Music during prime time, you will not find the popular numbers fromVaaranam Aayiram, Aegan, Saroja, Dhaam Dhoom and many other films for which Kalaignar TV has the satellite rights. Instead, the viewers are bombarded with songs from Kadhalil Vizhunthen, Sathyam and Jayam Kondaan, for which they have satellite rights. In the Top Ten on Sun TV, only films that they have television rights for are given the top billing, others are played down.
Kalaignar TV, a fledgling one-year-old channel, is fighting a David and Goliath battle with Sun Network. Their music channel Isaiaruvi, does not have the reach of Sun Music and not visible on the DTH platform, which means the upper segment of the viewers, is not able to catch it. But, in small towns and rural areas, Isaiaruvi has created an impact, by showing the latest songs packaged in an entertaining format.
Today, Kollywood is caught in the crossfire of this battle. Sun TV, starved of new film content, has started its own movie division Sun Pictures, whose first film Kadhalil Vizhunthen was a super hit due to an aggressive promotion on the network. If their second film releasing today, Thenavattu, which is also being promoted in a big way, turns out to be a hit, then they will regain their old glory. Remember the tinsel world only recognises the box-office and nothing else matters. Sun Pictures has lined up half a dozen small and medium films for release, as Kalaignar holds all the big titles. Now, Raj TV and Zee TV (Tamil) have also got into production to procure movie content for their channels. Says the CEO of a leading channel: “Tamil television’s big TRPs come from movies and film-based content, unlike Hindi channels where soaps and reality shows are huge. So, channels who have the telecast rights of hit movies will rule.”
But, the bottom line is that this war is hurting the viewers the most. What if you are bombarded with Nakka Mukka… all the time when you switch on the TV? When Kalaignar TV showed Billa for Diwali, Sun TV tried to be one-up by telecasting Chandramukhi at the same time. The poor viewer was left dazed as he tried to switch between both the films on his remote, and failed as even the ad break for both films popped up at the same time! Touche.

A romantic tale, the story begins with Pradeep (Raja) and he chances upon Vaishnavi (Kamna) only to fall for her at the first sight. The regular chase sequences happen and finally Vaishnavi falls hopelessly in love with Pradeep. However, there is a problem. Vaishnavi's father Raghuram (Nagababu) is a strict man and hates the word of love, he has a strong flashback for that. Pradeep-Vaishnavi's love is spotted by Raghuram's friend in Bangkok and he passes on the news. However, Pradeep uses his brain and hatches a plan in such a way that his friend Shyam's (Ali) picture is sent to Raghuram. Meanwhile, he also devises a plan in such a way that his father (Nizhalgal Ravi) and his family meets Raghuram and his family and Raghuram is not aware that Pradeep is the man his daughter loves. All goes well and there comes a stage when Raghuram fixes up the wedding of Pradeep-Vaishnavi. However, a twist of tale occurs and the truth is revealed. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
The director has come out with a regular and predictable subject and though the presentation was alright, the narrative was quite slow for a lot of time. The dialogues were normal, the music has taken a lot of inspiration from other songs, camera was just about okay. Editing was required during the first half. Screenplay was effective. The comedy track was somewhat okay and managed few laughs. Raja has come out with his regular performance but then he needs to pump in a lot of energy in his voice else he is going to become stereotype. Even his body language needs to pep up with some energy and enthusiasm. Kamna was cute and voluptuous, she fitted the bill correctly. Nagababu has come out with a powerful performance while Nizhalgal Ravi was elegant and is making up for the absence of Raghuvaran. MS was his regular self while Ali's comedy was not upto this potential. The others did their bit and contributed.
Conclusion:
The film had a routine plot and the entire first half just drags along with stale comedy and predictable scenes. It is not until the second half that the momentum picks up and the audience is kept to the seat in a good way. The item song by Rachana Mourya was spicy. Overall, the film could have been better if it had some more dose of comedy and the script was tight with a strong message. Technically, it did not have major flaws but commercially a word of mouth only will take it to a decent mark.

Telugu Actress ' Reema Sen ' Interview
She is beautiful, glamorous, warm and friendly. All the heroes and directors in Kollywood who have worked with her will vouch for her friendliness and frankness.
Anyone who has met the charming Reema Sen will tell you that she has the knack to make you feel special and at ease.
Its been two years since her last release Vallavan hit the screens, but the actress is still a hot favourite of all Kollywood directors who want to sign her up. What makes Reema special?
The actress concentrates on one film at a time. For the last few months, Reems, as she is called by friends, has been shooting for Selvaraghavans magnum opus Aayirathil Oruvan in various locations from the deserts of Jaisalmer to the forests of Kerala. She now opens up to Chennai Times.
You seem to have disappeared from Kollywood. For the last few months, you have been keeping away from the media, why?
Its true that I have not had a release in two years. I have been keeping a low profile for the simple reason that I havent had anything to talk about. For the last one year, I have been shooting, for one film Selvaraghavans Aayirathil Oruvan. We have shot for over 200 days in various locations across India. Im enjoying every bit of it, though the terrain has been inhospitable and the weather conditions extreme.
The never ending shooting of the film has been a bit of a joke in the industry.Who cares? I will boldly say Aayirathil Oruvan is truly a spectacular action adventure moving from the 13th century to the present day. It is an attempt by Selva to do a different sort of film on a big canvas. I have almost given two years of my life for the film.
For a commercial star like you, spending two years on a single project could prove suicidal for your career. What do you say?
Many of my friends in the industry have echoed similar sentiments and said I was a fool to give bulk dates. Do you think I would do it if Im not convinced by Selvas script and narration?
The buzz is that your movie has been inspired by the Indiana Jones series and Lara Crofts Tomb Raider...
Its utter nonsense. Does anybody other than the actors working in the film know the story to make their comments? Let people speculate till the film releases.
How has it been to work with Karthi, who is doing his second film?
The guy is amazing. He understands cinema and is a perfect actor. He is sharp and grounded and I guess it will take him a long way.
There have been reports of Selva torturing you on the sets of the film?
Selva is a very demanding director on the sets. Unless he is convinced, he will not okay a shot. He screams, cajoles and pampers to get the scene right. Im cool with it.
What about Andrea?
The grapevine has it that during the shoot, you were taking potshots at each other, as she was the directors favourite and he was extending her role?
I dont know what you are talking about. Andrea and I are ok, though we are not great friends.
The rumour mill has it that Vishal, with whom you did back-to-back hit films, is still crazy about you?
(Laughs) It happened a long time back in Bethlehem, and is more of a media creation. Vishal and his brother Vicky were my good friends and we used to party together along with our group of friends. During Sathyam promotions, he told the media that his dream date was Reema Sen. Well, I guess he has the freedom to say what he wants. I will not react to such things.
Do you like to party?
I like to chill with my good friends Shriya and Trisha. Shriya stays a stones throw away from my apartment in Mumbai. All of us gel well and on occasions, we like to party.
A t the Filmfare party, Nayanthara looked through you at the lobby of the hotel where both of you were staying. Please comment...
If people lack basic etiquettes, I cant help it. I did a film with her, but we were never good friends.
The buzz in Kollywood is that you are doing a very glamorous role and looking sexy in revealing clothes in Aayirathil Oruvan. Please comment.
(Laughs) There is a difference between sensuality and sexuality. All I can say is that it is not like I have worn a two-piece swimsuit and walked out of a pool. Yes, I have a very different look. I have lost weight as I wanted a size zero fit for the film as the script demanded it.
What after Aayirathil Oruvan?
I will be doing more films in Tamil next year. At the moment, Im onlY committedPriyadarshans Malamal Weekly 2 for Percept.

Trisha Krishnan who is a dolly of thousands of fans is in the news from the past 15 days for wrong reasons. Previously she was in the news for creating nuisance in a late night PUB in an inebriated condition. But now the pretty girl is in the news for commenting n her Bollywood dreams and thus giving a tight slap to actress ASIN.
Asin who is now charging 2 crores as remuneration for each film revealed that she is now a bollywood actress and so is in such a demand. Giving a tight reply, Trisha answered to a query that she doesnt feel like entering in bollywood when she is getting a flood of offers from Telugu and Tamil film industry. She also revealed that those people who are thinking in an idiotic way can only demand more and plan to settle in London in order to gain some Hollywood films. Asin a few days ago reported that she was getting some meaty English offers and so is planning to settle down in London.
In this way sexy Trisha gave a tight slap to Asins celebrity tantrums. In reality neither of the two heroines is in demand presently and is being sidelined for the new bunch of young girls. Because in todays day competition is growing and those girl who have a bit of talent and the guts to show their every inch of bodies are given first preference.Source:http://hinducinema.

With Deepavali hardly a month away, the race has begun to get movies into theaters in time for the festival weekend. At the moment, however there is only one confirmed entrant for the Deepavali weekend and that happens to be Simbu's Silambattam. He will be searching for an elusive hit and Silambattam seems to have the right credentials for the same. The movie will feature Simbu in a dual role for the first time after Manmadhan.
Meanwhile, with Silambattam as the sole confirmed entrant, at least three others are bending their backs to get into theaters for what will be a fairly quite Deepavali. Bharath's Seval under the direction of commercial rural action king Hari is almost ready and the promos are already on air suggesting the usual Hari fare of action in the village milieu. The rugged looks of Bharath have drawn attention. Also Hari's impeccable record when it comes to action flicks has made the movie go a bit high on the expectation meter.
But, all eyes are on the other two gearing up for release. Vaaranam Aayiram and Aegan may clash on Deepavali for sparks to fly, if everything goes as planned. Reports suggest that the works are progressing with fervor to meet the date and nothing can be said as yet. But, with the music released and the promos on air, Vaaranam Aayiram seems to be the more bankable option to make it for the festival season, but Aegan can by no means be ruled out. One need not talk about the expectations that these two movies have generated and if they do face off, it will be one great Deepavali.

The gorgeous Sen sisters are coming together for a film for the first time in Rituparno Ghoshs adaptation of Tagores novel Nauka Dubi and they will do some scenes together in the film because Raima Sen feels that the audience would definitely appreciate that.
s no way the audience will accept me and my sister in the same movie without having scenes together. In the original story our characters dont come together at all. But Riya and I have to come face to face in our first film together.
Riya and Raima were supposed to come together earlier in Vicky Chopras Seasons Greetings. But that didnt work out. It was an episodic film and they just had a small segment to work in.
Also, Raima who is to be credited for bringing this project together does not want her film to be dubbed in Hindi. She says, I know how strange it sounds when my Bengali films are dubbed into Hindi. It happened with Anuranan and more recently with Khela. When Pradeep Sarkar went to see Khela he told me he had gone to see a Bengali film. He ended up watching a Hindi film. Rabindranath Tagores characters will look very strange talking in Hindi.

CHENNAI: Kollywoods October 19 rally, expressing solidarity with Sri Lankan Tamils, may have been a huge draw, but in the wake of the arrest of
directors Seeman and Ameer, the festive season just got a little dimmer for the industry.
It will be a sad Deepavali for us, read a statement from director Bharatiraja on Sunday. According to a producer who attended a day-long meeting at the Producers Council on the eve of Deepavali, Neither secessionism nor politics is our agenda.
While a section of the industry is worried over the fall-out of the speeches by Seeman and Ameer, the Nadigar Sangam has maintained a stoic silence, signalling a polarised situation yet again within Kollywood. When the announcement of the rally was made, it was presumed that all the stars would participate, but barring Vadivelu, the big stars stayed away from Rameswaram.
The logistics of organising a trip to Rameswaram at such short notice were huge, said actor Sarath Kumar, who heads the AISMK (All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi).
On condition of anonymity, Nadigar Sangam officials said that it was a conscious decision to avoid the Rameswaram show. There were apprehensions that some of the speakers could turn out to be rabble-rousers, and get emotional said a Nadigar Sangam official. Walking the tightrope between politics and cinema, between one Kazhagam and another, calls for a lot of skill and all the stars were worried about being linked to either of the Kazhagams, and hence the decision to keep away, said another actor.
Industry observers point out that despite the close relationship between politics and cinema in Tamil Nadu No one can ride two horses at the same time, then entry into politics would mean the end of ones film career, they added.
Ananda Suresh, producer and member of South Indian Film Exporters Association, however, said that the rally was not aimed at gaining political mileage for anyone. Tamil producers owe a moral debt to Sri Lankan Tamils. They have helped our films grow in the export market exponentially in the last few years, he said. Ten years ago, the overseas rights of Tamil films fetched only about Rs 2 lakh. Currently a Vijay or Ajith film fetches Rs 2 crore and more overseas, while a Rajnikanth film is sold for Rs 10 crore, said Suresh. It is business, not politics, he added.

First the other simple girl of B-Town Amrita Rao, walked out of his movie and now Ayeshas retirement plans puts him in a tight spot.
He says that innocent girls in B-Town are rare.
Yes, thats very true since everyone wants to be as bold as the Katrinas, the Kanganas, the Priyankas and the Bipashas of B-Town. Its truly easier for women like that out here!
Even the likes of Minissha Lamba, Gul Panag who only did simple girl acts and even Soha Ali Khan have had sexy makeovers after they made not too many gains being simple and sweet.
Now Ayeshas been lately fighting the flab and has appeared in plenty of inane films like , Kya Love Story Hai, Fool and Final, No Smoking, and De Taali. But in she exhibited her talent, and if there were more chances like that, Ayesha might have shone brighter as an actress.
Since she has a biggie with Salman Khan in the form of Wanted: Dead And Alive and another Nagesh Kuknoor (who brought out the best in her) film Eight by Ten, chances are people might get to see something interesting from this cherubic faced chick again.
And in the world of the not so innocent, the presence of a demure dame is highly required.
Ayesha might just realize that and decide to work post marriage too.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra bonded well with Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas at the Middle East International Film Festival in Dubai and apparently Spanish star Banderas expressed a wish to work with her.
The ongoing festival started on October 10 and on the opening night Priyanka first met When Harry Met Sally star Meg Ryan. At the opening ceremony, Priyanka shared a good two hours with Hollywood's hot couple Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas.
"What you've heard is right. I did spend come time chatting with Antonio and his wife Melanie. We sat together at the opening. Antonio was extremely charming. He was familiar with the Bollywood film industry and the financial leaps it has made in recent years," said Priyanka.
Banderas spoke to Priyanka about the possibilities of a tie-up, but the actress didn't comment on this.
When asked if she was going international, Priyanka said: "The language doesn't matter. It could be Hindi, English or Punjabi, it's all the same to me."
Priyanka's much-publicised movie Fashion was supposed to premiere at the film festival.
"And that's how I found myself there. Fashion was supposed to be shown at the opening night of the festival. But the post-production wasn't done. They still invited me. I was very happy to represent Bollywood.
"I was in Abu Dhabi for just half a day. I went in the afternoon and returned to India late night, to Delhi for another event next morning. There's too much going in my life: the dubbing of Fashion, promotion of Fashion and Dostana and my new film What's Your Raashee is starting."
Priyanka says when she walked into the posh Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, she was like, "Wow this is meant for a holiday not work!"
"For the first time I craved for a holiday. But I don't need to combine work with pleasure because my work is my pleasure. The opening ceremony then the after-party at Abu Dhabi and I left at 1 am.
"I can't even afford to be jet lagged. I enjoy the rush, but I realised my body needs rest. I am petrified about not fulfilling my commitments. So far so good. I just need a holiday after Fashion and Dostana are released.
